Male advertisement calls are a train of pulses. Geographic variation in the advertisement calls of males in Korea reflects geographic barriers and population genetic structure but does not appear to be related to habitat differences or sympatry with a related species (though larger samples are needed). Males from higher altitudes on the southern island of Jeju are larger than those on the mainland and their calls have a lower dominant frequency. (Jang et al. 2011)
