A mud-dauber wasp building a nest in the channel of our fly-screen door. Sceliphron species. As you watch you can see the 'buzz' the wasp does as it manipulates the mud and parts of the mud become very glossy for a few moments; I think the buzz causes the mud to soften. The scale can be judged by the screen which has 1mm holes. Lasts 1 minute; took ages to upload! My first serious attempt to use the high definition video abilities of the Canon 7D. Taken using the 100mmm macro lens set on autofocus on a tripod. Illumination enhanced by led ring-light.
