jumping spider was collected by beating vegetation. This is a female; about 7-8 mm in body length. It looks close to images on BugGuide of the widespread Thiodina sylvana
, but Thiodina puerpera
is similar, at least some individuals identified as such on BugGuide. Expert advice may be sought on this one, though certain ID may require a view of the epigynum
(female genital opening), which I did not get in this photo session.
