Harvestmen distinguish themselves from true spiders by the head-abdomen part being linked to the back part of the body along the entire width. They don't make spider threads. Harvestmen live in damp places. When touched, they secrete a milky, smelly fluid. The eggs are laid in damp soil, rotten wood and other such material. Harvestmen are omnivores: they live off of living and dead animals as well as vegetation and bird droppings. Cannibalism is also known to occur among harvestmen.
