The Hairy Chinch Bug (Blissus leucopterus hirtus) is a pest of lawn turfgrass, causing damage that looks like patchy drought stress. Other forms of this species (B. leucopterus) are pests of wheat, rye barley, oats, corn, and sorghum in the midwestern United States.
