Description

Yes,this could be one of the World's Biggest Ant species....colony of African Army Ant is the most invincible killing machine on the planet...nothing can remain the same if caught in their path, that means Nothing!..predominantly African species has spread to tropical Asia(rare record in India too)...their have been instances in Africa where males have been attracted to light...queen is wingless and also a blind species...like all male ant this will also die after it mates the queen, but here their is a twist in the tale...unlike other ant species where queens and males go on a " nuptial flight", here the male is taken prisoner by the workers, it's wings removed and dragged to the virgin queen to mate! Isn't it fascinating!this is the second time in a couple of years...a colony nearby? Also called Driver Ant/Sausage fly/Saifu
