Eucomis pallidiflora
Eucomis pallidiflora (giant pineapple lily) is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to South Africa. It is a bulbous perennial growing to 45–75 cm (18–30 in) tall, with a basal rosette of strap-shaped leaves, bearing 45–75 cm (18–30 in) long racemes of greenish-white flowers in late summer.[1]
The plant is not frost-hardy, and requires a winter mulch in those areas subject to freezing temperatures. It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit[2]
