Chondrocladia lyra
Chondrocladia lyra, also known as the harp sponge, is a species of carnivorous deep-sea sponge first discovered off the Californian coast living at depths of 10,800–11,500 feet (3,300–3,500 m) by scientists from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI).[1][2] Two specimens have been collected and ten more were filmed. The first specimens seen had two vanes, but specimens with as many as six have been seen since.
