Cob-web spiders make an unusual web. The spider sits in a funnel-shaped resting area, from where its web is stretched. Sometimes it is a small ring of web or a large thick mat. The spider runs along the upper side of the web to catch prey that land on it. The prey are sucked up in the resting area. The egg cocoon is made in the funnel.
