The Paraonidae is a family of polychaete annelid worms. As treated by Fauchald (1977), this was one of three families in the order Orbiniida, but in more recent treatments (Read and Fauchald 2012 in World Register of Marine Species database), this order is not recognized and the Paraonidae is one of nine families in the subclass Polychaeta and includes fewer than a dozen genera.
