Occurs in lowland rivers and swamps in small groups (Ref. 57235). Found at the water surface in small and medium-sized rivers with nearby areas of floodplain forest (Ref. 12693). Feeds on plankton (Ref. 57235). Used to make prahoc (Ref. 12693).
