My yearly homage to the tiny Ceraunus blue. This one is refueling on Shrubby false buttonweed (
Spermacoce verticillata) at Frenchman's Forest Natural Area. Once they find a flower head they like, these little blue gems will cooperate very nicely. This one pirouetted 360 degrees and also allowed me a dorsal view of his wings. The larvae feed on woody legumes including Partridge pea. (While I was sitting with this blue, there was a crazy armadillo crashing around only 20 feet away).
