Morning sunlight in some piney woods at Frenchman's Forest Natural Area, Palm Beach County. The Hypericum
have a long history of medicinal uses by humans. They are usually placed in the family Clusiaceae
but are sometimes recognized as being in their own unique family, the Hypericaceae
. We have at least 12 species in southern Florida and I love them all! I wish this flower was 10 inches across with anthers the size of golf balls, but it's actually quite small.
