Although the species in question (Cacicus haemorrhus) is nowhere to be seen, several factors point these nests' owners being correctly identified. According to Jaramillo and Burke (1999), red-rumped caciques are colonial, prefer to nest in palms, and are found in Iguaçu National Park.
