Ophioglossum reticulatum is pantropical in distribution. In India it is found throughout. It is known from Tamil Nadu (Kodayar, Kanikatti Hills, Marunduvalmalai, Alamparai Hills, Kolli Hills, Shevroy Hills; Manickam and Irudayaraj 1992, S. Jeeva pers. comm. 2011) and in Kerala (Chembra Hills in Wayanad, Kanjoor in Ernakulam, Ponmudi in Thiruvananthapuram, Thangacherry in Kollam; Nair et al. 1988, Nayar and Geevarghese 1993).
