It is described as a forest species by Heath et al. (2002) and in west Africa as a submontane forest species often found in the vicinity of mountain streams by Larsen (2005). More specifically it is described as a butterfly that flies in forest clearings and along forest roads by Congdon et al. (1998). Larsen also states that it is a mixed habitat species. It is thought to utilize plants of the genus Plastostema (Lamiaceae) as larval host-plants (Congdon et al. 1998) .
