Biology
Inhabits lakes and fast-flowing rivers. Often called 'salmon trout' because of its food which is rich in crustaceans and give it its pink flesh. In lakes, large individuals have a lighter color and take on the name 'truites argentées' (Ref. 30578). Spawns in rivers in September-October. Maturity: 4-7 years. Young regains the lake at the age of 1-3 years, usually at the start of summer (Ref. 682).
