Bicosoeca (bike-o-so-eek-a), one of only several genera of bicosoecid stramenopiles. This genus includes cells which live within loricae. The cell attaches to the lorica by the tip of a recurrent flagellum, the other flagellum extends out of the lorica and beats with an undulating beat. Only the lorica can be seen here. Phase contrast.
