Amoeba radiosa (a-me-bah) is not a species of the genus Amoeba but the floating form adopted by many amoebae when they are detached from the substrate. When they make contact again, they will usually withdraw the long tapering pseudopodia and adopt their usual moving / feeding body form. Phase contrast.
