(am-fee-din-ee-um) (identification tentative) with two flagella inserting about a third of the way down the cell (near left hand margin), one flagellum passes around a groove that is near the front of the cell, the other runs longitudinally. Cell flattened. This cell looks like a deformed Amphidinium semilunatum
. Nucleus is the round region to right of centre. This species does not have but has eaten some algal food and the brown residues of digestion are retained within a food vacuole.
