Head of a female. Note the compact, but powerful jaws. They can actually pinch quite sharply with these--I just learned this from experience. The males, with their larger mandibles, cannot actually pinch very hard. I get a few of these some summers, almost always coming to the same lighted window, which faces some woods. I seem to get them in numbers every other year, perhaps associated with one cohort with a two-year life-cycle. (I'm not sure about this!) I am sure that I do not see the females very often.
