The upper photograph was taken near Kickapoo State Park in Vermilion County, Illinois. Both bicolored and monocolored forms of the Birdfoot Violet were blooming on a thinly wooded bluff at this site. The lower photograh was taken at a sandy savanna in Kankakee County, Illinois.
