There is considerable interest in identifying predators for Halyomorpha halys, the brown marmorated stink bug, because Halyomorpha halys is a serious agricultural pest in the Mid-Atlantic states. Here a spotted orb weaver preys on a brown marmorated stink bug. Unlike nearly all other spiders, Neoscona crucifera actually eats the body parts of its prey. Typically, spiders inject enzymes into their prey which liquefy the soft tissues and enable the spider to suck the liquified tissues out of the prey.
