Range Description
This rodent occurs from Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina States, in Brazil, to eastern Uruguay (Eisenberg and Redford, 1999). It occurs in the wetlands of southeast Uruguay and close to the Atlantic coast in southern Brazil, (Ximenez 1980).
