Pomadasys incisus is a demersal species, found over sandy/ muddy and rocky bottoms mostly at a depth range of 10 to 50 m but recorded down to 100 m (Kent citation). It is found inshore in estuaries (Kapiris et al. 2008), harbours, to a couple of miles offshore. It feeds on near-bottom invertebrates. Pomadasys incisus is a non-seasonal spawner and breeding occurs year round; maturity is reached in approximately 2 years (Pajuelo et al. 2003).
