Body elongate, slender, fusiform in dorsal view, slightly bent ventrally in lateral view; cuticle very flexible; hyaline. Head and neck narrower than trunk, more or less equally long, offset by shallow transverse folds; submentum distinct. Antero-ventral margin of head pseudosegment with deep V-shaped sinus . Trunk arched dorsally and flattened ventrally, more or less gradually tapering into foot; tail prominent, broadly rounded in dorsal view. Foot long, c . 1/3-1/2 total length, telescopically retractable in trunk ; two pseudosegments, basal pseudosegment shorter, c . 2/5 length terminal pseudosegment; axes of pseudosegments characteristically not in line in lateral view: terminal pseudosegment slightly displaced dorsally. Toes straight, with more or less parallel-sided margins over 2/3 of their length, both in lateral and dorsal view; posterior ends in dorsal view with more or less straight inner margins and abruptly incurved outer margins, ending in tubular points; posterior ends in lateral view more or less gradually tapering to the tubular points. Corona slightly oblique, 2 lateral ciliary tufts. Dorsal antenna unpaired, short, almost medially on neck pseudosegment. Brain saccate, moderately large, retrocerebral sac relatively large; subcerebral glands present. Two small, red, frontal eyespots, set close together, often apparently absent. Oesophagus terminating in strongly developed proventriculus posteriorly; stomach and intestine not separated by constriction. Gastric glands large, more or less kidney-shaped in dorsal view, flattened in lateral view, short-stalked. Pedal glands very large, elongated, extending into trunk, with reservoirs in toes. Vitellarium horse-shoe-shaped, margins slightly lobed, 8 nuclei. Subitaneous egg oblong-ovate in dorsal view, slightly flattened ventrally; attached with short tag to substrate. Neither males nor resting eggs were seen.
Trophi modified virgate, stout, rami and unci asymmetrical. Each ramus consists of a bulla rami and scapus connected by a narrow juncture. Left ramus largest; bulla rami rounded triangular, bearing basal apophyse with comb of 4-5 appressed, stout, blunt apical teeth; ventral fenestra of left basal chamber large, rounded; scapus band-shaped, ab-uncinal side with cluster of small skleropili anteriorly, posteriorly with short, blunt, ventral and dorsal projection; ad-uncinal side with finger-shaped projection anteriorly and small skleropili; scapus with small dorsal fenestra near posterior edge. Right ramus with rounded triangular bulla, bearing single, stout, obovoid sklerite anteriorly; ventral fenestra of right basal chamber fairly small, oval; scapus band-shaped, ab-uncinal side with cluster of small skleropili anteriorly, ad-uncinal side with finger-shaped projection anteriorly and small skleropili, dorsal fenestra large, placed posteriorly. Fulcrum short; in ventral view with strongly expanded, fan-shaped posterior end; laterally more or less wedge-shaped, broadest near basis of rami. Unci characterized by their broad bases and few teeth. Left uncus with single stout tooth at ventral margin and small triangular projection dorsally from tooth; anterior edge of uncus with rounded plate bearing row of pronounced skleropili at its anterior margin; tooth with subuncus of 3-4 slender toothlets near tip. Right uncus with three stout teeth and small triangular projection; plate and skleropili at anterior margin less pronounced; principal tooth with subuncus composed of 3-4 stout toothlets. Inner side of both unci dorsally with short crest, apparently grasping finger-shaped projections of scapi. Manubria very stout, relatively short; cauda broad, strongly incurved ventrally, sickle-shaped; head broad with narrow and short ventral chamber, and characteristic more or less axe-shaped dorsal chamber, partly separated from median chamber by deep incision anteriorly; median chamber with drop-shaped lateral fenestra opening at outer side of manubrium; dorsal chamber with dorso-lateral fenestra; ventral chamber elongate, opening at inner side of manubrium. Epipharynx absent.
