The workers of this species, which are female, are typically 8-9 millimeters in length. They have oval, elongated heads with medium sized eyes, long and slender antennae, and large mandibles. They have a long thorax, and a short and oval-shaped abdomen. They are red-brown in color with short, yellowish hair sparsely distributed around the body and scape of the antennae and legs.
