Paedocypris progenetica
Paedocypris progenetica is a species of cyprinid fish endemic to Indonesia where it is found in peat swamps and blackwater streams. It is the smallest known fish in the world with females reaching a maximum size of 10.3 mm, males 9.8 mm and the smallest known mature specimen, a female, measured only 7.9 mm.[1] It held the record for the smallest known vertebrate until the frog Paedophryne amauensis was formally described in January 2012.[2]
