Naxos (Greece) It is the smallest species of Astropecten in Mediterranean Sea with a maximum diameter of about 7-8 cm. It prefers sandy seabed at low depths as between 1 and 12 m. Unlike other Astropecten, this specie is active and easy to find during day, especially in early morning and late afternoon.
