Description
Perennial herbs, dying back each year, with corms. Inflorescence a spike. Flowers actinomorphic, usually white or pink, opening in the evening. Style dividing at the mouth of the perianth tube into 3 large spreading branches. Fruit a capsule, sometimes dehiscing only in upper third. Seeds sometimes slightly winged.
