A young Coconut Crab or krab kokonas (Bislama) (Birgus latro) near Pang Pang on eastern coast of the island of Efate, Vanuatu. Photographed on 16 March 2011.  The Coconut Crab is a terrestrial crab and a rare delicacy on the islands - so much so that it is becoming much rarer on Vanuatu - especially on islands where tourism is popular. It has a very hard exoskeleton. It is supposedly that largest land-living arthropod in the world.
