File: W941 Proj 10 Mag 0 point 63 c by Chris Walker. Fragments of the dried sporocarps collected by C. Tulasne in 1841. This is the material used to establish a lectotype, re-defining the species morphologically.

The Tulasne brothers never knew that this was a mycorrhizal fungus. The link with these fungi and mycorrhizas was not understood until the 1950s
