Description
2011-10-08 Lower Austria, district Hollabrunn - Jetzelsdorf (field 220 msm, hill 270 msm; Quadrant 7262/3). A field of maize/corn, with a vineyard in the background: one typical landscape scenery of so-called Austrian Weinviertel ('wine district', for the wine cultivated there). This (that is, the vineyard) is also the habitat of a plant which is very rare here in Austria - Bassia prostrata; the plant as such is common enough in Eastern Europe and Asia but rare in Central Europe - and the Austrian population is the westernmost one.
