Amphidinium (am-fee-din-ee-um) (identification tentative) with two flagella inserting about a third of the way down the cell (near left hand margin), one flagellum passes around a groove that is near the front of the cell, the other runs longitudinally. Cell flattened. This cell looks like a deformed Amphidinium semilunatum. Nucleus is the round region to right of centre. This species does not have but has eaten some algal food and the brown residues of digestion are retained within a food vacuole.
