Characteristics
The Solenopsidini share the following synapomorphies with the Stenammini (Bolton 2003):
- Clypeus constricted posteriorly
- Median portion of clypeus narrowed from side to side and elevated, usually bicarinate on the dorsal surface of the elevated section
