During several trips to French Guiana, I collected a seemingly rare and little known pair of the Orthopteran known as Bactrophora dominans. The male may not be of the same species, although the hindwings are of the same color as the female.

@Rene Bustamante: Rene, you are welcome to use images from EOL -- just be sure to credit them. Would you be interested in becoming an EOL content partner? Take a look at http://eol.org/info/120 and follow the directions to registering if you would like to get started.

@Bart C.: Great ideas, Bart! It is already possible for EOL users to add the identification resources manually, page by page, using "Add an article." It would also be possible to add them more in batches using the spreadsheet upload method (http://eol.org/info/337). Of course, if a volunteer programmer is willing we would welcome a more automated solution! Perhaps this community would like to tackle the project using one or more of these methods?

Bart C. commented on "Identification Resources Group":
I think the ‘Online Identification Guides’ collection is a nice idea, but I don't see much movement anymore. Are there no more resources? I doubt it. Maybe a list of links is a bit old fashion. I think EOL could do better. I don’t see much of these urls added to the Identification Resources subchapters. What do you think about the idea of an online, global, croudsourced, searchable database of identification resources? It can feed EOL authomatically with data for the ‘Identification subchapter’ of the relevant taxonomic range (and maybe visa versa). It should be searchable on at least geographic range (countries, bioregions, continents), taxonomic level and language(s). Both online resources (interactive keys, checklists, photo library, forums, e-guides, etc) as well as references to physical books and articles (online available or not). URL’s can be added and reviewed by users. I am not a web designer, so who wants to steal my idea?
