Taxon Clean-Up Tasks With Pending Issues

Last updated 2 months ago

This collection tracks taxon concept management tasks that were requested but have not yet finished or did not execute properly. Having this collection separate from the Taxon Clean-Up To Do List and Taxon Clean-Up Tasks Completed will make it easier to identify tasks that should generate bug reports.

HE: hierarchy entry; WFR: waiting for results.

    Squamata

    Lizards and Snakes

I wonder if we're aware of this already? It's not in the w/pending issues collection. The Tambourine Mountain classification places Squamata within Insecta. Accordingly, snakes and Gila monster in the first page of the insect gallery. I assume this requires a correction at the source? -Jen -- Indeed! Jirafied -- The Tamborine Mt. hierarchy has been fixed. Requested a reindex of all Squamata subgroups (whole group is too big). Hopefully this will resolve itself soon.

    Goniobranchus tinctorius

    Red-netted Goniobranchus

Chromodoris reticulata is an old name. Worms maps it to two accepted names: Goniobranchus tinctorius (Rüppell & Leuckart, 1828) and Goniobranchus reticulatus (Quoy & Gaimard, 1832). Most of our content currently resides in the G. tinctorius concept. Since we don't know which of the accepted names should be applied to our data objects, we'll leave them with G. tinctorius for now.

    Unidentified

This page is a wastebasket of all kinds of unidentified stuff. Each of the taxa contained within this concept should be examined and associated content (usually images) should be moved to appropriate higher taxa. -- Cleaned out the ones that could be handled with the master curator tools. The remaining ones are too big to handle.

    None

putting these here so they don't get forgotten, though I'm not sure what to do about them yet. Namelink has gotten one of them from at least one text object, so we should probably think of something... -Jen

  • Naso unicolor

Naso unicolor should be merged with Naso minor, it is a synonym. -- Does not look like this issue has been resolved. Keeping both concepts for now.

    Polydora

    Mud Worms

Split this from the annelid genus Polydora. Strangely, some image files came with it, although they are not attached to any of the moved HEs. Requested a reindex.

    Polyneura

Split off the fly genus. Taking a long time to finish. Still need to split off the cicada genus.

  • 91147_88_88

    Tanna

Started splitting the cicada genus to its own concept. Taking a long time to finish. Still need to move remaining cicada HEs.

    Setaria

    Bristle-grasses

Separated the grasses from the worms, but there's still a fungus HE in here that should be split as soon as the concept unlocks.

    Humboldtia

When the concept unlocks, try again to split the orchid genus to its own concept.

  • 53927_88_88 Plantae > Anacardiaceae
