Nightjars

Last updated almost 2 years ago

Caprimulgiformes are an order of bird that are mostly active at night and twilight. They are often referred to as "goatsuckers", a term which derived from an ancient belief that the birds flying around goats at twilight were sucking out milk. Some birds included in this order are nighthawks, Whip-poor-will, and Chuck-Will's-widow.
