No records from VA that I have found, but Webb (2006) indicates records from coastal New Jersey and Calvert Co. MD, and again from coastal North Carolina.

Placed in the genus Cerocatus by Webb et al. (2013). Type location is Washington D. C. There are also records from North Carolina. No VA specimen I am aware of..

Another species lacking Virginia records, though it has been collected both to our north (MD) and south (NC). Also has been placed in the genus Cerocatus (Webb, 2013).

A widespread species in the east. Virginia specimens span 28 June - 5 Aug, with records from Bath, Fairfax, and Mathews Counties.

I'm unsure about this one. The therevid PETE site lists a specimen MEI_031113, but the range is midwestern, and this VA specimen isn't included in the map in Webb 2013.

This may be our most common therevid. A malaise trap in a suburban Washington yard obtained many specimens. I have had them land on my parked car, which is white, and the color seems to attract them.

I have observed this attractive downy-white species in a sandy riparian area along the James River.
