The Sampled Red List Index for Plants

Last updated about 2 years ago

The Sampled Red List Index for Plants (SRLI) is a major global monitoring scheme that is helping us to understand the threat status of plants around the world and how that is changing over time. By assessing a sample of 7,000 of the world’s plant species we made an estimate in 2010 that 1 in 5 plants are threatened with extinction. Species in the sample will be periodically re-assessed so that trends in threat status of plants can be identified. Last indexed July 14, 2012
